Sopratutto per chi è alle prime armi, la scelta dei Colori Nail Art non è sempre così semplice o scontata, anzi: dalla giusta scelta e dal corretto accostamento di più colori dipende gran parte del successo di un lavoro e il finish delle nostre Nail Art!
Conosciamo davvero i Colori che utilizziamo per Decorare le nostre Unghie?
Come abbiamo detto più volte qui nel nostro Blog Unghie, possiamo a tutti gli effetti definire la Nail Art come un'Arte...l'Arte sulle Unghie!
Se, infatti, intendiamo come Arte il risultato di un atto creativo, ovvero di un processo di pensiero e azione, anche la Nail Art rientra in questa macro-definizione.
Certo, saranno poi l’esercizio costante e lo studio delle tecniche professionali a far migliorare ogni giorno di più il nostro estro e le nostre capacità artistiche.
Non a caso, così come per le forme Artistiche più note - la pittura per esempio - anche per la Nail Art il primo protagonista è il Colore: ed è proprio per questo motivo che anche nella Sezione del nostro Portale dedicata ai Prodotti Nail Art il Colore è il protagonista delle tantissime Decorazioni Unghie proposte!

Especially for beginners, the choice of the Nail Art Colors is not always so simple or obvious, indeed: from the right choice and the correct combination of multiple colors depends much of the success of a work and the finish of our Nail Art!
Do we really know the Colors that we use to decorate our Nails?
As we said several times here in our Nails Blog, we can totally define the Nail Art as an Art...Art on Nails!
If, in fact, we interpret Art as the result of a creative act, that is a process of thought and action, also the Nail Art falls into this macro-definition.
Certainly, then the constant exercise and the study of professional techniques will improve every day more our creativity and our artistic skills.
Not by coincidence, as well as the most known Artistic forms – painting, for example - also for Nail Art the first protagonist is Color: and it is precisely for this reason that even in the Section of our Portal dedicated to Nail Art Supplies, Color is the protagonist of many Nails Decorations proposals!
La Teoria dei Colori: Sappiamo riconoscere i colori e le loro caratteristiche fondamentali?
Una buona conoscenza del colore e delle tecniche professionali di pittura applicate all’onicotecnica (la Nail Art e la Micro Decorazione delle Unghie e Pittura in Miniatura), sono necessarie non solo per ottenere creazioni soddisfacenti, ma anche per poter realizzare delle vere opere d’arte sulle proprie unghie e su quelle delle vostre clienti!
Analizzando i Colori è opportuno iniziare con la conoscenza dei 3 elementi fondamentali presenti in ogni colore: la Tonalità (il livello o grado di "purezza" del colore), la Luminosità (la quantità di bianco o di nero presenti in quel colore) e la Saturazione (l'intensità del colore stesso)
I colori dello spettro solare sono in tutto 7 e si suddividono come segue:
- Colori Primari: il Rosso, il Blu e il Giallo
- Colori Secondari: l'Arancione, il Verde e il Viola, ovvero i colori che si ottengono dalla fusione di due colori primari
A loro volta, inoltre, i colori secondari si possono unire tra loro per ottenere infinite possibilità di tonalità; è in questo modo che nascono, infatti, quelli che vengono chiamati i Colori Terziari.
A questo punto avrete già notato che nell'elenco non abbiamo inserito due colori molto importanti nella Nail Art: il Bianco e il Nero!
Si tratta, infatti, di Colori Neutri, che non possono essere classificati come gli altri...e tra qualche riga vi spiegheremo il perchè.
Si definiscono infine Complementari le coppie di colori in cui ogni colore è composto da tinte non presenti nell'altro: il blu con l’arancio o il viola con il verde, per esempio.
E' molto importante per chi utilizza i Colori nella Decorazione Unghie che l’accostamento di due colori complementari crea un effetto di massimo contrasto, in grado di esaltare la luminosità di entrambi i colori!

Color Theory: do we know how to recognize the colors and their fundamental features?
A good knowledge of color and professional techniques of painting applied to the Nail Technician (Nail Art and Micro Nail Decoration and Painting in Miniature), are necessary not only to obtain satisfying creations, but also to be able to realise real works of art on your own nails and those of your customers!
By analysing the Colors it is appropriate to begin with the knowledge of the 3 fundamental elements present in each color: the Tone (the level or degree of "purity" of the color), the Brightness (the amount of white or black present in that color) and Saturation (the intensity of the color itself)
The Colors of the solar spectrum are generally 7 and are divided as follows:
- Primary Colors: Red, Blue and Yellow
- Secondary Colors: Orange, Green and Purple, that are the colors that are obtained from the union of two primary colors
In turn, finally, the secondary colors can join together to obtain endless possibilities of shades; it is in this way that arise, in fact, those who are called Tertiary Colors.
At this point you certainly have already noticed that in the list we have not inserted two very important colors for the Nail Art: Black and White!
It is about, in fact, Neutral Colors that can not be classified as the others...and soon we will explain why.
Finally , are defined as Complementary Colors, colors pairs where color is composed by shades that are not present in the other: blue with orange or purple with green, for example.
It is very important, for who uses Colors in Nail Decoration, that the combination of two complementary colors creates an effect of maximum contrast, able to enhance the brightness of both colors!
All colors, moreover, can be divided into ranges that are distinguishable by their degree of "brightness" and by the feeling that cause in those who observe them: so we can have warm colors, cool colors, and, finally, those neutral.
Warm colors – such as red, yellow and orange - are able to visually recreate a feeling of movement heat: they seem close, as if they move toward whoever observes them.
Cool colors – such as green and blue - remind us instead a feeling linked to cold and seem to remind the remoteness and distance.
Neutral colors, as we said, are Black, Grey and White.
It is clear, therefore, how important it is to know the colors and it is surprising how they are able to pass down feelings (hot, cold, distance, etc.), memories, emotions: the choice of a color and its correct and harmonious combination with other colors can be very useful to express our creativity, communicate something and to obtain the desired result for our Nail Art!
A little big help for the choice of our Nail Art Colors: the Color Wheel!
For helping us in the choice of the right colors, we can use the Color Wheel: an instrument designed by Isaac Newton in 1600, based on a circular pattern where the colors are organized and put side by side on the basis of the degree of compatibility.
In this way, Newton has shown us if two or more colors are well matched between them or if they aren’t!
The color wheel can be a useful guide for who is still inexperienced and wants to improve his knowledge by experimenting chromatic combinations!
Certainly, today the customization possibilities are really endless and the combinations of color are often deliberately of great visual impact, but knowing the characteristics of the Nail Art Colors still represents today the starting point on which to build our style and artistic skills!
